Smoking & none smoking venues - let the market decide
Our aim is to promote freedom of choice, not something the powerful anti smoking lobby wants. Let none smokers have their venues, and smokers have theirs. It’s called democracy, something the lobbyists and government have conveniently forgotten.
People who choose to work in these different venues can choose if they want a smoking or none smoking environment.
With modern ventilation systems, there is more chance car fumes breathed in during your trip to work is more harmful, but we can’t let common sense get in the way of ideology, can we?
We want to see hospitals and office buildings allowed to have smokers rooms, with appropriate ventilation. We also want to see an end to “caring” hospitals pushing smokers onto the street, this is more than discrimination, it’s a health and safety issue.
We will ask that governments in this country produce legislation that reflects the wishes of all the community, and not just the health sector, with pharmaceutical company backing. Democracy is about defending the rights of minority groups.
We will publicize any politician giving their support, but don’t hold your breath, it takes guts, something lacking at all levels of government. We will try to seek out those placing people and truth before vested interests.
We will highlight accommodation that is smoker friendly, so 4 million of us can choose a friendly welcome.
Links on the site will allow people to see the growing movement in the UK and USA along with many other countries.
Above all, with the help of international groups, we will expose the “junk science” and lies that have been the cornerstone of the health lobby. They are not going to be happy with this exposure, it could effect their comfortable, taxpayer funded jobs.
We feel many none smokers are disgusted at how smokers have been treated by government, media and “health” groups, it’s time for a change, and it’s up to us to fight an ideology of hatred against smokers.
The smoking ban legislation is generally state based, but with federal backing, and as of 2009, the Northern Territory still has smoking in pubs, but the federal pressure is too great, and 2010 will see the lies win, and smoking banned. The people of the NT have been conned like the rest of us. Weak politicians, offered considerable financial benefits to introduce the bans, simply can’t resist. Particularly when NT media conform to whatever the government wants, once again based on income from vested interests, or to simplify it, follow the line of who pays the most for advertising. Outstanding, independent journalism is not expected from the NT, because journalists know who pays the bills, and not to rock the boat.
The smokers of the NT do not understand how this dirty piece of legislation will effect their lives, and change the fabric of their society.
The pub owners will see the effects over time, unless they have already sold up.
