Murphys Law of Laws - Have you got one?

Postby deb » Mon Sep 07, 2009 12:09 am

Back in 2005 I was able to take a little trip up to Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast.

I was surprised to find that I could walk around ANYWHERE in the casino/ Hotel complex and smoke. So, not surprising, I was quite happy to enjoy the place and really didnt venture out much.

Then I was also surprised that you could get cash out via your credit card, but I couldnt go to my local newsagent and buy a scratchie or lotto ticket with credit. Are Casinos a law unto themselves?

Double standards seem to appear where the rich & famous are part of the patronage.

Yes and in the casino here in sydney , the high rollers lounge allows the rich and infamous to smoke as they play while the ordinary aussie has to sit and follow smoke bans, it is on law for the rich and famous and one law for the rest of us

I went into the office of Veterans Affairs when I was there in 1998 with an unlit cigarette in my mouth. I was ordered to put it away within a minute.

The only things smoking causes are ignorance amongst non-smokers and statistics.

A few months back there was a person on Yahoo forums that was responding to an article about a child being photographed with a ciggy and how the parents should "rot in hell", etc - (I know you've heard the comments before). This particular brainwave stated that even unlit cigarettes are harmful. (Only if I stuck in their eye - with force and a Marlene Dietrich filter attached). It would be hilariuos if it werent so sad...

BTW Have you noticed how many people dont smoke pipes anymore?
